Hello, welcome.
I’m Laura, I am an independent wedding celebrant specialising in co-creating creative, meaningful ceremonies that allow you, your story and your love to be expressed and celebrated with elegance, warmth and joy.
This day is all about allowing the energy of your love to radiate all around you, whether that be in a small and intimate ceremony or with a large crowd of family and friends. We craft a ceremony together that feels just right for you.
This can be traditional or place to begin your own traditions. Your different background and cultures can be included and honoured as your two paths through life join together.
The ceremonies I offer are inclusive and for all ages, beliefs, backgrounds, sexualities and gender identities.
Lets co-create something beautiful together…

“Love shook my heart, like the wind on the mountain rushing over the oak trees.”
— Sappho

My Role
To help you bring your dreams to life. I can assist in all aspects of planning your day allowing your love to shine.
Having been a storyteller for the last 20 years, in theatres, on film and within communities, I am constantly amazed by the different experiences and lives we have lived.
We explore together what marriage means to you and craft a ceremony that allows you the freedom to express your love in a completely personal way.
I am grateful to all the people who have shared their stories with me and entrusted me to perform this role.
The process:
Each ceremony is uniquely crafted. I can be involved as much or as little as you wish…
We spend time gathering and writing all the threads of your unique story and weaving it into the heart of your ceremony. I take the time to get to know you so I can create a bespoke and meaningful ceremony that allows the spirit and heart of you and your love to shine.
I will write a script and send you a draft copy to edit and finalise.

Suggest resources, poems and readings and encourage you to weave your own ideas into the ceremony.
Support you to write your own vows for the day. We have fun creating these and I have lots of tips to help your words come alive.
Liaise with venues, suppliers and be on hand to ensure the day runs smoothly and with ease.
Incorporate unity rituals that reflect what this moment of your life means to you. These could include:

Handfasting – Being bound together with a ribbon or cord. This could be material that is significant to you, cloth from clothing on your first date or favourite colours. This ceremony dates back to around 7000 BC and is also the origin of the phrase ‘Tying the knot”.

Sand Ceremony – The sand ceremony symbolises the coming together of two individuals to create a unique and blended whole. Each person pours alternate layers of different coloured sand into a glass jar (any children could add their own colours too.) Create a beautiful wavy or striped creation to keep as a memory of your union. This can be beautiful on the beach or to honour a blended family joining together.

Four Directions Ritual – This is a nature based ritual embodying the divine and that we as human being a part of natural life. Calling on the four directions (East, South, West and North) and their elements of Air, Fire, Water and Earth to bless a couples journey in life.

Broom Jumping – This tradition symbolises sweeping away the past and beginning a new life together. It also acknowledges the fusing of two families and acknowledge the coming together of traditions.

Tree Planting Ceremony – Planting and growing a tree together symbolises a couples commitment to caring for a growing the bond they form in marriage and also reflects the roots they are putting down together. This can then be taken away and planted in the couples home.
If you already have an idea you’d like to explore or you’re not sure where to start please get in touch.
